Seriously? Growing Rice in Kansas?

On May 31, 2006, KansasBio held an industry briefing on PMP (Plant Made Pharmaceuticals) and Ventria Bioscience, a PMP company who is exploring business expansion opportunities in Kansas. We worked in conjunction with BIO (Biotechnology Industry Organization), Kansas Agribusiness Retailers Association and the Kansas Department of Agriculture to bring together producer groups from across the state to discuss the PMP topic. BIO 2006 a "BIG" Success!



Kansas had tremendous success at the BIO 2006 Annual International Convention in Chicago, April 9-12. More than 130 delegates from Kansas attended the convention and were able to share with the nearly 20,000 international convention attendees what Kansas brings to the table in the biosciences.

BIO 2006 Victory Celebration

KansasBio and the Bioscience Initiative in Central & Western Kansas

KansasBio, in conjunction with the Pawnee County Economic Development Commission, hosted a forum about Kansas' bioscience industry, June 2, 2006 in Larned, Kan.

The forum included a report on the industry, discussions about the BIO 2006 conference and candid talk about how Central and Western Kansas can grow with the biosciences in Kansas.

Angela Kreps, President of KansasBio, along with area leaders: Kim Barnes, Rita Kurtz, and Jason Toll updated the group.


Kansas Bioscience Magazine

KansasBio debuted the Kansas Bioscience Magazine at BIO 2006 in Chicago. The inaugural edition lays the foundation, infrastructure and partners of the Statewide Bioscience Initiative, as well as highlights success stories in the various industries in Kansas.
