"Biotechnology is growing at incredible speed, and it can be difficult to keep abreast of the state-of-the-art developments in the area both nationally and internationally.  BIO 2008 is an excellent venue to become familiar with the pioneering technologies, products, economics and policies that will be discussed. It is crucial for Kansas to be a prominent part of BIO 2008 to showcase our biotechnology leadership in research and business arenas, as well as the unsurpassed collaborative spirit between our industry, academia and governmental entities. It is essential that we convey the message that Kansans are working in unison to grow the biosciences in the state."

Kansas Native to Perform at Kansas Bioscience Industry Celebration !

Singer/songwriter Shevy Smith, a native Kansan, will perform at the Kansas Bioscience Industry Celebration on Tuesday evening! Shevy grew up on a farm in Haven, Kansas, and she began her ventures into music by way of classical piano at age four. With an authenticity deeply rooted in the late 70’s era of sunny California country rock, she quickly transferred her energy into hours of quality time spent with her guitar. Shevy’s tunes reflect a young, free-wheeling attitude coupled with lyrical substance. She is on tour supporting her sophomore release, September Songs.
